Man Booker Prize : Shortlist- What is your opinion?

The most popular “Man Booker Prize Shortlist” for the current year is out and there are raging controversies, as usual, about the same. “Alephi” records the views of some prominent authors about the award.

Alvin Pang is a poet, author and editor based in Singapore. Active in literary practice globally, his writing has been published in more than 20 languages worldwide. He appears in the Oxford Companion to Modern Poetry in English (Oxford University Press, 2013) and was a Fellow in Writing from the University of Iowa’s International Writing Program.

Alephi : Man Booker Prize : Shortlist- What is your opinion?

Alvin Pang : The Man Booker Prize still only considers novels published in the UK, and as such is not fully representative of the rich diversity of fiction in English being produced around the world today.
