Which sci.fi. book do you like?

Alephi is going to celebrate the December month as the month of Sci.Fi. writers. We ask one small question to the Sci.Fi. writers worldwide…

Regina Kanyu Wang is a science fiction writer from Shanghai, China. She has won 4 Chinese Nebular Awards for her writing as well as her contribution to the fandom. Though she keeps an irregular English blog on AmazingStoriesMagazine, introducing Chinese science fiction and fandom, most of her writings are in Chinese. Apart from stories, she also publishes book reviews, academic articles, interviews and travel logs related to science fiction. Her short story, “Back to Myan”, won the SF Comet competition in Feb 2015 and it is also her first story translated into English. As the co-founder of SF AppleCore, the largest fandom in Eastern China, and council member of World Chinese Science Fiction Association (WCSFA), Regina plays an active role in Chinese fandom. She has been to Finncon 2013, Loncon3, Shamrokon, Sasquan, etc., always willing to reach out towards the international fandom.

Alephi : Which sci.fi. book do you like?

Regina Kanyu Wang : I would like to write about “The Quantum Thief” by Hannu Rajaniemi. I could hardly get through the first few chapters of The Quantum Thief, but after that, I just couldn’t stop. Fascinating story with a steep learning curve. It is a book for smart readers or diligent readers. The impressive narration helps Hannu to get a trilogy contract with the very first chapter. I found it unique and amazing.
